What's Growing in Our Garage. Part Two...

What started as this...

...and then became this...

...finally turned into this...

...and then this...

...and then, yesterday, we heard some strange, NOISY, noises coming from our garage, and we saw this...

...and this...

...and this...

...and, unfortunately, this...

Our babies have grown up and flown away.  Exciting and bittersweet, all at the same time.

Hope to see you all next year, birdies!

  1. That's really neat! We get nests in the trees in our front yard every year but they are built too high and too far in that we can never see anything. We do hear the babies cry for food and see the parents going back and forth with food, but that is it.

  2. Very cool! We had our annual cardinal nest in the bushes, but carpenter ants got in there before Momma Bird laid eggs. We couldn't find where she may have moved to.

  3. Awesome! We got to watch this process last summer. After we got over the disappointment that the birds were living on top of all our pool toys, we really enjoyed it!

  4. It was really a wonderful experience! And, yes, Firefly was pretty upset that she lost the use of her scooter for several weeks--and then it was dead when the birdies left and she went to ride it! ; ( But I wouldn't trade the lessons we learned...
